Annual Service of Thanksgiving

You are warmly invited to our Annual service of Thanksgiving

We warmly invite you and your family to our annual Service of Thanksgiving. This is a special gathering for anyone who would like to remember and give thanks for a loved one who is no longer with them, no matter how long ago they died.

The service is going to be held at Christ Church on Sunday 5th November at 3:00 p.m. It will give good opportunity to remember the person we have lost and to thank God for them. We will also reflect on the comfort God offers us. The service will last around 30 minutes. There are refreshments afterwards.

When you arrive at church, you are invited to write down the name of the person you have come to remember. Their name will then be included in the thanksgiving prayers during the service.

Please consider this an open invitation. If you know others who might like to come to the service, they would be very welcome too. There’s no need to RSVP.

Book Club: Knowing God

KNOWING GOD is one of the most significant and popular Christian books of our time and has deepened the faith and understanding of millions of people around the world.

John Stott says this is "a spiritual classic."

While Rico Tice writes: 'Dr. Packer says we're cruel to ourselves if we try to live in his world without knowing about the God whose world it is and who runs it. I'm convinced we're cruel if we deny ourselves the wisdom contained in this Christian classic.'

We're going to spend three months slowly enjoying this small but meaty book. Each month we will read around 100 pages and then meet to discuss.

Part One - 14th May: 4 pm - Christ Church Sidcup
Part Two - 11th June: 4 pm - Christ Church Sidcup
Part Three - 16th July: 4 pm - Christ Church Sidcup

If you would like to join then please email Adam Curtis on adamchristchurchsidcup@gmail.com

During this training participants will learn:

  • Biblical principles on living a life that pleases God and points other people to Him.

  • Practical tips and advice about sharing Jesus Christ with people who do not yet know Him.

  • How to best support new Christians and help them grow in their faith.
